#27 Emory University Goizueta MBA Admissions Q&A with Ms. Libby Livingston “We Focus on Day 1 Readiness”
“Goizueta Business School’s Full-Time MBA is one of the only programs in the US that offers a world-class and innovative curriculum in both the 2-year and 1-year format.”
Looking for a close-knit, high-touch program in the US with a strong market focus?
Ms. Libby Livingston, Director of Admissions for the Two Year MBA Program joined the show this week to talk about Goizueta MBA (pronounced Goy-sweat-a) that can be completed in 1 or 2 years. The program is focused on “Day 1 Readiness:” getting students exceptionally prepared for the first day of class, job interviews, internships and jobs. Students complete their core curriculum in the first semester so they can select courses to prepare for summer internships and their first post-MBA jobs. The program further emphasizes real world application through its management practice sequence and experiential learning electives.
Goizueta is unusually small with only 150 students/year for the 2 year program and 50 students/year in the 1 year program. Nevertheless, students can specialize in 20 concentrations in 5 academic areas. Most graduates go into consulting, finance and marketing. The school had an amazing 98% placement rate (after 3 months) in 2012 – higher than any other top 20 US business school – and the highest average jump in salary as well.
Libby has been with Emory for over 13 years and shares many insider admissions tips. Be sure to apply before Round 3 to maximize your scholarship chances!
The Goizueta MBA in 3 words: rigorous, experiential, engaged.
