#21 “Set the World on Fire” – Georgetown MBA Admissions Q&A with Ms. Shari Hubert
“The Jesuit charge is “go forth and set the world on fire.” We really see our students as alumni from the moment they walk into our school. We want to equip them with the knowledge, passion and ethics to be principled leaders and set the world on fire.”
Do you want to impact business and society in a meaningful way? And be at the nexus of business and politics in the US?
Ms. Shari Hubert, Associate Dean of MBA Admissions at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, joined the show to share more about the Georgetown MBA, located in Washington D.C.
With its Jesuit heritage and mandatory global experience requirements, the Georgetown MBA is looking for “principled, ethical leaders with a global mindset looking to serve business and society.”
Last year McDonough completely re-hauled its curriculum. Now the program starts with a 3 week intensive “Structure of Global Industries” which explores how to enter a foreign market or industry and ends with “Global Business Experience” consulting projects in 5 countries around the world. The new curriculum is also focused on integrative learning across subjects.
Last year’s MBA graduates experienced an average 100% increase in salary and over 70% of international students ended up staying in the US to work. 75% of the class got some form of financial aid, whether through merit-based scholarships or loans.
The Georgetown MBA in 3 words: bold, socially relevant, global.
Shari also shared many great admissions tips. Listen on for the insider’s scoop on how you can prepare the strongest possible application…
